  • A little different user name but the same ole Charlie D

Something went sideways with my account and I could not log in under my user name "Charlie D". Asked for help but no response. It could be because my desktop email address would not work with this system. I was informed the other day by Studebaker International that they had made a note in my account that emails sent to my desktop email kept getting rejected. Evidently their server and my server did not want to play together? So, I have just set up a new user name "Charlie D." and used my mobile email address on this account. When I push the magic post button I am anticipating that it will show it as my first post. If so; you do not have to welcome me to the site; I've been here for a few years.

        Welcome back Charlie !
That seems weird that you would have a different email address to use on a phone, than your computer, because an email box account is there on the internet whether you get there on line on a smart phone or a computer, same Internet.

And we really don't use email addresses much here, just a "Handle" ie: Forum Name.
Even crazier, you should not be able to re-use a Forum Name, you should have to become Charlie Daytona, Dictator etc. .

It sounds like maybe your Internet Browser is messing with you.

Thank you, guys. Rich, all I did was add a period after the D and that let me set up as a new individual. Before we went to the Star link system our internet carrier uses radio transmitters on the water towers to provide the service. I do not understand all the terminology but our speed was about 20 down and 8 up. With Star Link it is about 200 down and 25 up. We got rid of Direct TV and can now stream our TV and movies, etc. I did not want to jump through all the hoops to notify everyone that our email address had changed. The carrier let us use our old email address even though we no longer use their hardware.

Charlie D., I don't know who you reached out to for help, but it wasn't me; I literally specialize in helping with this sort of thing.

Anyhow, I have merged your old account with your new one, so you have access to all of your old posts from your User control panel.

I'm moving this to the "Help" forum so that perhaps, future users with this sort of need will see it and know who to contact, either by calling Cornerstone, who will contact me, or by shooting an email to the Contact Us link at the bottom of the page.

Thank you, Clark. I used the contact us but that is water under the bridge. I thank you for combining both accounts. I changed the email address back to my desktop computer. I appreciate every thing you do for me and the forum. Next time I have a hiccup I will personal message you.
