Search Function "Request Timeout"

What is wrong with the Advanced Search?? Been trying for almost an hour to do a search, and keep getting a "Request Timeout". This is really getting old Admins.

Request Timeout
This request takes too long to process, it is timed out by the server. If it should not be timed out, please contact administrator of this web site to increase 'Connection Timeout'.

I have not tried to use the search function lately, but I have gotten the Connection Timeout message a number of times while trying to read threads.
