I get same message as Shifter4 posted. Seems to be getting more frequent/worse.

Only the 2nd time I've gotten in to post in a week.
            SDC Forum is MIA.

It's so odd-I tried accessing the site this afternoon with "server too busy" result and this evening no trouble at all.

Ok, thanks everyone. I’ve got 2 support tickets open now. This latest software patch has been very problematic.

Does the Group Works use a different platform than the SDC Forum? When I get the message I then go back and from the drop down get the Group Works to open every time.
I will await the answer and outcome.
I have a hunch but I will keep it to myself.

6hk71400, I have the same hunch. First the lack of edit, now lack of access.

OMG, now the conspiracy theorists are out. Guys, quit that crap please.

The fact is that this appears to have been a bad code update in the latest version of the Forum software. I hate these troubles just as much as you do. Even now I am putting together a proposal to move to a different software on a different webhost. There is no fiendish plan to sabotage the Forum.

Clark, thanks for everything you do to keep us on an even keel. As a retired IT guy, I can relate.

OK, an update for anyone following this: I have made several configuration changes to the server software, one of which has to do with blocking access by robots crawling the site; it seems we have had an inordinate amount (~5,500 per day) of search routines accessing the Forum; some known crawlers Iike Google, others not so nice. I've now put in place a routine that blocks access to our site for 1,800+ crawlers, which should (hopefully) stop these "Server Busy" errors as well as generally speed up site responsiveness.

I will be monitoring this thread for your observations as well as conducting my own. Thanks everyone who sent me screenshots via email; your participation is much appreciated. And StudeRich , thanks for your note above - this is good news.

Clark, what you did seems to have fixed the problem, at least for now, and I am very appreciative of all you do for us!

                        Clark and Don,

My hunch was the platform used by the forum was older (who knows how long) than Group Works and could not be upgraded. I was hoping that there could be a fix, which it appears to be working. Hopefully that will give some time to investigate a new platform.

That said, any changes like the site page and other things I welcome and adjust. I can live with the lack of edit function. You and Don and your hard work is appreciated.

Clark, speed and access has improved greatly since you made the changes stated above. Have had no problems in the last day or two.
