it's a bug in the system, there is entirely no need for anyone to get shotgunned with a mess ad infinitum , it's up to the develper to identify and make a correction.

if the notifications we meaningful , i.e. for pm's only then we would open it when we do see a notification, they way it is it is crying wolf, and contaminates the true way of connecting members.

I have the same problem. First thing I do is dismiss all notifications. Only became a problem some months ago.

Guys, when you say "notifications", what are you referring to exactly?

            Clark,
Taking a stab here, I think Mason is referring to when you log in, notifications pop up with a number to responses to what you (or anyone that l posts), I usually try and see if I need to respond or not. I do not nor anyone if they choose to respond can ignore the notifications. For me, it does not take much time to respond. Others may be pressed for time and thus find the notifications cloying.

If I am wrong, please respond

              Here's something that may help, mw2013 , jts359, rockne10 :

If you go to your Notification Settings, you can turn off everything you don't want. Just un-tick all of the notifications you don't wish to receive, and click Save Changes when you're done.

If this doesn't work, please let me know.
