  • Body / Glass: Window Lift Channel Identification

I thought the lift channels were identical so I didn't identify them when I removed them from the car. Now my glass guy is telling me they are different. I checked the parts manual and see that left and right have different part numbers.

Can anyone provide some guidance on how to identify which is which?

(I know, stupid mistake on my part)
    Thanks

I assume you won't find a part number on the channels.
Your window regulator has two pins that drive the slot on your lift channel. These "pins" have spring loaded washers (for lack of a better term) behind them. Those washers ride in to the concave side of the slot so, if that makes any sense, the indented or concave side of the slot faces the interior of the car. If that sounds confusing, maybe others can more clearly explain. If I had a channel out of a car I could photo the identifying side.

Makes perfect sense Brad. Thanks for the help.

Oops, forgot to say 61 Hawk.
