  • Body / Glass: don't think so, but gotta ask

    will a 55 4 dr commander front clip fit(dog house) a 53 2 dr coupe? like I said i don't think so but have to ask. Thanks

      As Jerry said - NO.
      Not only the combination you mentioned, but no 1953-1955 sedan front clip will fit any 1953-1955 C/K (coupe/hardtop) model and vice versa.

        Actually, apparently one guy HAS done this (only backward).
        Not saying that it's not a LOT of work....but yes, it can be done.

          I would guess it involved torches, welders and prayers that the geometry of the frame and suspension did little suffering.

            The sedan fenders are a lot shorter and in 1955 they switched to a wraparound windshield half way
            during the model year.

              I tried a 55 on a 54 and no it won' fit. The part I had ordered had the same part number but a different year

                I have no idea WHICH Part you ordered, but the SAME Part Number CAN NOT change from year to year unless the Part does. I
                t's illustration Picture Number may be the same, but a different year Part that is different in a way that makes it a no fit, would definitely have a different Part number.

                    If both parts/sections are off a sedan or wagon, its not a big deal - bolt on if the wagon is a flat windshield.
                    It is the attempt to mix in C/K parts on a sedan or wagon that becomes next to impossible.
