  • Cool/Heat: Radiator cap, not thermostat!!!

    I meant to ask for a part number for a Radiator Cap for my 57 Commander, 259.

          Make sure the rubber gasket goes into the neck far enough. They seemed to change depths over the years.

            Ok Roy, I'll let you know. The new one seemed to have the same depth, the gasket was just missing.

              The 1956 to '66 all use a 14 Lb. (Short) 3/4 Inch reach Pressure Cap.
              The Gasket on the end of the center spring is required to seal the pressure in.

              The Gasket UNDER the top Cover is only needed for a Coolant Recovery System. The New Generic Caps now all have those and they should do no harm on a non-overflow tank Car, but are a must if you add one.
