  • Engine: How to attach a vacuum guage to a 6 cyl

I keep reading about adjusting a 6 cylinder Lark using a vacuum gauge but I dont know how or where to attach one.
Also, what process should I use and what readings are acceptable?
I have a 6 cylinder that has a very uneven (up and down) idle and I can't get it to smooth out. when I read this same problem on this site, they mention the vacuum guage.
    any help appreicated.

Fabricate a "T" fitting into one end of the vacuum line that connects to the distributor vacuum advance. Consult the shop manual for the desired vacuum reading at a prescribed RPM. Hope this helps.

If you have an OHV six there is a manifold port on the rear of the intake manifold.
