  • Frame / Springs: Powder coating the Springs

Does anyone have experience with powder coating of springs? I'm afraid my springs loose power when I heat them up to 356 F, the recommended temp of my powder.

As long as you do not quench your springs and allow them to cool naturally...I doubt that the heat would be of much consequence. However, If you keep your springs assembled, any rubber padding or bushings will be toast. Honestly, I don't see using powder as better than a good quality spray paint. Most powders, I have used, are less flexible than paint and more prone to cracking under flexing. Perhaps your material is different. Good luck with your project.

What John said. Don't powder coat springs. The coating will just come off. Use a good quality chassis paint.
