Here's a nice evening news clip of Jay Leno at The Studebaker National Museum. It's short, but he was seriously impressed with the place:

We met him at the Orange County Packard winter show in '99 where he was passing do-nuts out to the attendees. He was a personable, nice, down to Earth guy and allowed me to take some pix of him w/ my wife, Pam.
What a wonderful role model for celebs & successful folks!

Unlike most of today's celebs, who only feel big and important by making those around them feel small, Jay is a class act. I watch every episode of Jay Leno's Garage. He makes it a point to have a lot of small business entrepreneurs and car builders on his show. He seems to be a champion of the every day Joe/Jill in the collector car, hot rod hobby.
I'd rather be driving my Studebaker!

Jay was picked up that day at the South Bend Doubletree hotel and brought to the Studebaker National Museum in the yellow 2007 Avanti convertible.

And yes, Andy was a bit overdressed!

Shame he didn't get to ride in a Studebaker.

He was going to return to his hotel and/or the Morris Theater in a 1950 or '51 Land Cruiser, I believe, but instead returned with the theater owner and manager since time was getting short. He spent too much time at both the museum, archive building and Avanti Guest House.

I wonder if the video of his visit to the SNM will be on Leno's Garage. I'd love for him to own a Stude at some point. It's great to have someone of Jay's stature to be a car guy. He's not afraid to get his hands dirty working on a car.

Well, that is just too bad! An old car lover and collector of fine autos like Jay should have some South Bend iron in his collection.

Maybe his visit to the SNM will light a fire under him, and kindle his interest in purchasing a Studebaker very soon.

Lew, what did he think of Don's convertible with only 100 miles on it?
