Kind of a dumb question, but, I have a 60 Lark wagon with the clamshell tailgate. Is there a 'proper' way to shut it?
I ask because when I first got it, I would close the tailgate by latching the bottom half, then dropping the glass and pushing it shut. I became aware of a way of shutting it where, I close both halves, resting on each other, but then closing them together interlinked ( I hope that gives you a good enough description of the process). It feels like this way is less hard on the pieces.
Was there a specific way to shut the clamshell tailgates? I see that the 59 glass half has a different upper half mechanism and I really have no idea of how the 50s wagons closed.
Thank you,
