Got a pea green 4 door V8 automatic wagon with about every option available, bought it in Springfield, Ore. and drove it back to South Bend In 1978. Still a solid care. Number 60V42543.

Post #20 is a very nicely done, restored 5E5-112 Champ Deluxe Truck with a Los Angeles Assembled 1956 Commander 259 4V Engine conversion done a VERY long time ago.StudeRich

I traded him an original and very nice 1947 Land Cruiser for it, then had F&F install a new 259, replacing the worn out flathead 6.
I later sold it to a collector who owned a Volvo dealership in the Kearney Mesa area of San Diego. Don't know what happened to it after that. It was red with 3 on the tree.

Hi Bill, good to see you back here, things must be pretty boring at the F1 Forum!
I am sure I would have known him or a least remembered him, but I never knew what Vehicles some of those long time L.A. & OEC Members owned.
I still have the 5E6-122 that Dad bought from Afton's New, it was a dead ringer except color for the Parts Dept. Truck that I drove in the summer of 1961 after HS Graduation, when I worked for the Parts Dept. picking up the loads from the L.A. Warehouse and helping Parts Manager Bruce Phillips stock Parts etc.
It was Ermine White and Dad's is Oasis Green, both straight Stick 3 Speeds, 4.09 Axle, 245 Engine, Deluxe Cabs.
Dad's Prod. Order says: Destination: "Los Angeles -Genson" if that was a Dealer I don't remember it.
I do remember seeing Frost and French's Old Transtar Parts Truck they had before the '64 Champ, it had the same 3 Blue marching soldiers (Minutemen?) painted on the side of a bright Red, nice looking, lettered Pickup.
It was at the Warehouse Dock next to me sometimes.
"Doc" Zimmerman is on here sometimes, you would remember his '56 Golden Hawk, I still remember Service Manager Ray Gries saying: OH NO! here comes Doc's Car on the Hook AGAIN!Last edited by StudeRich; 12-12-2016, 01:30 PM.StudeRich
