Frame / Springs: Spring shackle

Folks,
I need some help. I am re-assembling my 56 power hawk and it looks like the spring shackles are a different length on the two sides. I think the longer one came off the passenger side but I am not sure and can't tell from the assembly manual. Anyone know for sure? Also anyone have any idea why they are different?

My power hawk has the longer shackles on the pass. side (right side).

My WAG is it was done to counter the road camber.The center of road is higher to allow water to drain better.

The longer shackles go on the DRIVER side to compensate for extra weight on that side. A little weight jacking to make the car sit level. If your car is level now, and is level going down the road, you might as well leave the shackles where they are.
