  • Engine: Turbo for Stude V8 FS

I have a turbocharger, brand new never used that I had speced out for a 289 - 299 V8 by the same place Ted Harbit gets his turbos from. I have decided to go a different way for my truck project and would like to sell it. It is very heavy duty with oil cooled bearings and comes with gaskets, and paid $600. I would like this to go to someone wanting to do a Stude V8 project. PM if interested, pics available.

    Thanks

          Dan,

I assume this is just a turbo, no manifolds etc.?

Were you planning on blow through or pull through the carb?

          Thanks,

          Ken

It is just the turbo. You would need to come up with the plumbing depending on your setup. I was actually going for blow through fuel injection, like the new FiTech setup. A lot like a carb but works like FI. My plans have changed in the way I am going so I don't need the turbo.

I've already got the twin turbo setup for my 289. Its going into the 54 Coupe this year. I'm considering a pressure box, but my just blow through the carb. I'm only planning on 6-8 psi, so it should not be too much trouble anyway.
Plus a friend of mine just gave me a pair of turbos from near new Acuras. Those may be a tad too big to pair up for a 289 though, and too small to use a single. Almost perfect as a single turbo for a low to mid RPM 259 though.

Okay Dan, it sounds interesting but what spec do you mean? Could you supply me with the A/R of each side please? Brass bushing or ball bearings? T3/4 hybrid?

                Thanks,

                Len

It is ball bearing and oil cooled. I will pull it out and get the A/R info.
