  • Body / Glass: Cowl Moldings

I'm helping a friend assemble his 1960 Hawk. I did not take it apart and he does not have the parts book. I want to install the 3 moldings that go on the top cowl panel (just below the windshield). The problem is access. One fastener cannot be accessed because the speedometer housing is in the way. Another is blocked by the glove box. There are a few that I can get to, but none are easy. Are these held in place with small nuts or are snaps employed?
Can anyone tell me what I need to get to fasten these to the panel? Thank you.

Don't forget to replace the seals also.

I think the latter model Hawk had barrel clips that snap into the hole and then the molding is pushed on. You can probably get the clips from SI. Be sure to put dum-dum around the studs before installing the molding.

Yes,they're called barrel clips. Clip snaps into body, then pin of moulding pushes into the clip.
