  • Body / Glass: 50 Champion Doors Handles

The door handles we have appear to have a stainless steel "sleeve" covering the steel core. The stainless steel has some dings and really needs to be polished. Can the stainless be removed from the underlying core mechanism?

I don't think so. Found a couple nice ones for our 49 at swap meet for not-too-much.

It's possible to elevate minor dings in stainless skins on handles, bumper bolts, etc. by very gently tapping around the perimeter of the ding. I know it sounds counter-intuitive, but it works, as long as the ding is minor.

I've found some NOS ones at the Studebaker swap meets. I'd also bet French Lake Auto Parts has some nice ones. 320-286-2560

I bought a nice pair for my neighbor for his 1950 two door, but as I recall, his were so nice he doesn't need them. I just called Joe, but he isn't home.
