  • Cool/Heat: 1932 Studebaker Commander Eight Model 71 - Radiator

I'm looking for ... a working / new radiator. Where can I get this? Who builds this replicator of this radiator?

    Request for Info,
Thank you and greetings from Austria, Leo NMB

Try Walker Radiator Works (Street Rod supplier). They made a radiator for my late brother-in-law'S 32 Dictator St Regis Brougham. Outlets were different for the V8 Lincoln he put in the car, BUT it DID fit in the original grille shell.

It must be somewhere in America such a radiator to be bought.
      This is not possible.
I also have a Ford A - Bj 1930 ..... since I get everything with a few companies in America!!

Leo, remember that not that many 1932 Studebaker Commanders were made and few survived. Perhaps there were about 4,000 cars of that model. There were lots of Fords and many people make reproductions for those cars, not so many for Studebakers, especially as old as 1932. Do you have an old radiator from which you can take dimensions and make photographs? You can send the information to www.thebrassworks.net, and they can build a new radiator for you.

You can also get a copy of the original drawing of the radiator from the Studebaker National Museum for a fee. In the case of your 1932 Model 71 car, there were two different radiators used. If your car serial number is before 8037198 for a U.S.A. built car (or before 8950721 for a car built in Canada), the radiator number is 174249. For later cars, the part number is 176504. This part is called "Core, radiator". So, only about 2,000 cars were ever made with the same radiator as your car. This is why you can't just call a radiator maker and order one off the shelf.
