  • Engine: Intake/Exhaust Manifold

I have a busted manifold on a 50 Commander, Does anyone know where I might find one or one of the pieces? The intake has a 1/2 by 3/4 hole in the side which will require welding a plate over it, 2the exhaust has a chip out of the exhaust to intake mating surface. I can't find anyone that can weld this. Someone said I could braze it but I don't know if this will hold up, never had anything brazed to cast iron.

There is one on Ebay that's for a truck M5 M15 41 to 47 that looks exactly like mine but I do not know if it will fit, can anyone educate me on this or brazing the one I have? Thanks

I've brazed, gas welded, and MIG welded cast iron with success. My first choice would be to find another manifold though.

I'd bet French Lake in Annandale, MN has one. 320-286-2560

      Jim,

Check with Ted Jenson, engine rebuilder from NY. I just traded him a bunch of Studebaker parts for some engine work, which included a intake/exhaust manifold from a 1950 Commander parts car.
