  • Frame / Springs: motor mount question

On my 64 R2 Gt the right side motor mount has a definite tilt to to the rear of the car while the left mount is parallel to the ground. Is this correct? Hopefully you can see it in the picture.

    It is an addiction!

Check for a cracked frame rail on that side. They typically crack just behind the crossmember.

From what I can see in the picture, the mounting area looks square/level (that is the bracket to the crossmember). I would suspect that the engine mount bracket has been bent down. Has the engine been removed and reinstalled before? I do not think that the mount would bend from the weight of the engine, but could bend if someone has dropped the engine onto the mount. After checking for structural problems, such as cracks, I would either replace the mounting bracket or at least form/bend it back up (replacement desired, rather than re-forming metal).
