Is this a truck water pump housing for a 259 or 289?

Hard to tell from the pictures, but is there an indentation, or a flat spot on the rear of the manifold by the lower water hose connection?

That flat spot/indentation was put there in 1955 to clear the fuel pump when the pump was moved to the side of the timing gear cover. It should be below the 154 in the casting number.

Since I cannot see the indentation/flat spot, this manifold looks like it is from a 232, built in 51-54.

As far as what it will fit...
        Any Stude V8 block, head combination. 232, 259, 289.
Though if you are planning a supercharger, you'll need the supercharger specific manifold.

I'm thinking that it does not have the indentation to clear the fuel pump. That means if you put this manifold on a 55 or newer engine, you will not be able to install a mechanical fuel pump and maybe it won't even clear the pump mount on the timing gear cover.

Nope. What you have is a passenger car manifold.

What is different about the supercharger-specific manifold?

There is a machined pad on the right side for the supercharger bracket.
