Attempting to install the door belt molding on the speedster. I have all new clips (#4 309327, and #1 each of 309338 and 310486). Total 6 clips per door but I have seven holes in the door. Can anyone tell me the position of each clip and am I missing something for the seventh hole? I thought this would be an easy installation but I'm stumped. p.s. The moldings were off the car when I purchased it and the service manual is not helping much. Any help (pictures) would be very much appreciated.

Still need some help/advice on this. Someone must have some experience with the exterior trim. Probably an easy fix but I'm stumped.

The middle 3 clips are riveted to the pot metal, they move. Both ends are attached with small screws. 5 attaching points.

Appreciate the response very much but I'm referring to the "belt" molding thru the middle of the door (the stainless steel trim)not the door window molding.

The 'belt molding' is the molding up next to the glass.
Sound like you need another 309327. Or just leave one hole empty. Who's gonna know?

Jerry and Klif,
Thanks for you responses but I think that we're not on the "same page" partly due to my description of the parts and also the different descriptions in the Body Parts Catalog and the Shop Manual. Part # 304021 described in the Parts catalog as "belt molding" but in the shop manual as "window molding". This the pot metal part that goes at the very top of the door next to the window. This NOT the part I'm having difficulties with.
I need help with part # 309198 described as "side molding" in the Parts catalog but as "door belt molding" in the shop manual. Pictures # 157 page Body 59. I've also heard this described as the "butter Knife" molding. This is the stainless steel part at the center of the door.
Hopefully this will provide some clarification. Confused the heck out of me!! So.. I have six clips for this molding (but seven holes in the door) as described in my original post. I don't have a reference as to where these go on the door to snap on the molding. I don't want to experiment and scratch the new paint job.
Again, I hope this clears things up a bit and would appreciate any further help/advice.

My recollection of the stainless butterknife on the door is that there is a one that goes across the butterknife at the bottom and one in the thin strip itself with two nuts visible on the latch (rear) end of the door and a one visible nut clip required on the hinge end - the front one is flatter so that the clip can reach the end. If you are still stuck, I can post a picture next weekend. (cars not near me)
