  • Cool/Heat: Recharging the AC

I have converted my Avanti AC to 134a and have charged it with 1.5 lbs of refrigerant. I replaced the York compressor oil with ester oil. I also put in 2 oz of ester oil into the system with the 134a. I read somewhere that it takes 2 oz but, I can't find that reference again.
Can anyone confirm that 2 oz is sufficient?
I also replaced the dryer with a similar styled stubby unit. I believe the original was longer and may have been a receiver/dryer. Am I going to get into trouble with just a dryer?
    More about AC.
A friend has a '60 Champ with a AC system with a York compressor, Mark IV evaporator and long dryer. I can't find out how much refrigerant to use or how much oil should be added to the charge. Would this system work OK with a stubby dryer only unit?
