  • Body / Glass: 1953 c/k doors

    Are the 1953 c/k with the post doors the same length as the 55 Speedster coupe doors?

  • #2
    Todd, the 55 Speedster would be the Hard Top door. but the length of each door is the same "as in between the front and rear fender openings".

      There's not a c/k door. The 53-55 K door is same, and so is the 53-55 C body.

        C= coupe body
        K= hardtop body
        The Speedster is a hardtop.
        All 53-55 C doors are the same.
        All 53-55 K doors are the same.

            Trim will interchange, but the mounting holes won't be there. ....

              Does anyone know the difference between 56 'K' doors and 53-55 'K' doors? (Trivia question.)

                56 doors have different window regulators and door latch relays, 53-55's have square handle posts and 56's are splined

                  I don't disagree with you and I do not know if that is what Joe H. had in mind with his question. To me, those items are not differences in the doors themselves, but rather a difference in the hardware/mechanisms that are mounted in the door.

                        Nope! 1956 DID have the swoop. The swoop was done away with after Bob Bourke, for the 1957 model.

                            I will have to agree with you there, that is just bolt on mechanism difference. So I went out and did a comparison, Unfortunately I only have 53 "K" doors and 54/55/56 "C" doors to compare, One difference I noticed is the 56 "C" doors have the ash tray holes and the 53K, 54/55 "C" doors do not.

                            So is it safe to say that 56 has an ash tray in the door and the others do not?

                            I will agree here. My 56 Power Hawk does have the scoop in the doors
