  • Engine: PCV Valve

I know this question has been asked before, and I have looked in the archives but see nothing. I need a new PCV Valve for a 1963 289 engine. I have cleaned mine out several times before, but it has reached its end!! It is the type with the hose nipples at both ends. S.I. doesn't have any. Has anyone found or know of a replacement.

If you have the Carter WCFB or AFB Carb. I have a good AC Brand replacement one that threads into the rear of the Carb. base and flows to the Carb. as needed, it only has one 3/8" Hose end, so is not designed to replace the Dual hose nipple type you have but could be made to work on other than 2 Brl. Carbs.

Mike: Check out Pages 28 and 29 of the December 2009 Turning Wheels, in The Co-Operator. I think you'll find a solution there, if you can sort it out. BP

I ended up using an AC PCV valve part number CV679C which is for 1960's GM V8s using a 4bbl carb. It looks similar to the one the previous owner had installed. As far as I know it worked. By the way if you have an Edelbrock carb the PCV should be routed to the front inlet.
