  • Body / Glass: 1950 Champion Starlight Windshield

I have a 1950 Starlight that has no windshield so far. My understanding is that there was both a stainless trim around the outside of the windshield and a basic non-trim style. Is this info correct? If it is correct are there 2 different styles of windshield seal? Thanks for any help.

Randy, Your info is correct. There are two different seals available, 1763x1 without the molding and 1680x2 with the molding. Originally this rubber came off a roll and you had to glue the ends together. The reproductions the vendors sell have this seam pre-glued.

Thanks for help on the info. Seeing all the hassles of installing the trim and the fact that I don't have the trim. I think I'll stick with the the type that doesn't use the trim moulding.

It will cheapen the Car from it's "Regal" standing and look really poor, but if you can deal with ugly, go for it!

You know, when you are involved in the SDC and connected to local Chapters, other owners and "Turning Wheels", finding a set of stainless Steel Windshield Surround Mouldings is NOT impossible.

Just be sure you follow the Shop Manual instructions and Install the Glass from the INSIDE and the Moulding if used, last.
