  • Body / Glass: hawk power windows

Here is an easy conversion of Hawk window mechanisim to power operation.
The Quadrant gear is removed and rotated 90deg.
A new pivot pin that spaces the quadrant out 1/4".
A short flat bar is welded to the quadrant and bolted/riveted back onto the arm.
A bracket is made and the motor mounted. (Nissan common as muck has the same module gear)
When I modify the LHS I will document it and post more pics.

The '60 Hawk I had shipped from Ireland in '85 had an aftermarket power window setup. Both motors and switches were in larger armrests that bolted over the shafts for the regulators. I still have them, but somehow the adapters that connect the motors to the regulators got separated from the units. I'll try to post some pix later if anyone is interested.

Here they are. If you want them they are yours for the postage. A medium flat rate box will handle them.
I took them off the car without ever trying them so I have no idea whether or not the work.

PM sent...I'm still in the experimentation phase with my Silver Hawk, so I'd love to have them.

Makes sense for a coupe too, because they only have 2 roll down windows.

I believe what You have here is the JC Whitney type that screws on to the outside of the door trim panel, and simply replaces the window crank handle........really not the way to go!

Speed way sells a unit that fits where the window crank use to be and when done the factory handle goes back on so you cant even tell the car has power windows. Just did a set on a 33 dodge truck street rod for a guy. Slick set up.

                      Hi David
I had a lot of 1984 Nissan Skyline ones lying around. As Nissan used many common parts across a wide range of cars I suspect any 80's Nissan would have the same motor.
                      Regards

                          Hi Brian
I have not had a chance to modify the LH side regulator yet. When I do I will document it and post it.

I once posted some info on those power window setups since I have one in the box. I posted some pics of the instructions too. It doesn't list Studebaker but it came with a bunch of adapters.
