Where do I find the cowl tag on my 1959 Silver Hawk? Thanks.

On the cowl. Sorry, couldn't resist. It is on the passenger side of the cowl, in the engine compartment.Don Wilson, Centralia, WA

Open the hood, look at the firewall on the passenger side of the car - your left as you look under the hood. The tag is held on by two screws and has large embossed convex letters and numbers.
For a 59 Hawk, it will say something like 59V-C3 1234
The 59V means a 1959 V-8
the C is a coupe body
the 3 or 5 or whatever is the level of trim/interior/deluxe-ness
and the numbers below indicate the sequence in which your particular C body was assembled and welded up.Comment

Kind of funny but I had the same problem. When I was told where to find it There were the 2 holes looking at me in the face.
