Engine: Commander (Land Cruiser) head gasket - which side is up?

I'm finally installing the head gasket on my 50 Land Cruiser. which side of the gasket goes up? One side is copper and the other side is steel.

Most of them are stamped 'front-top'. If not, there is only one way all the holes will line up. There are 7 small holes in the gasket adjacent to the head bolt holes along one side. They go on the left (driver's) side. There is one hole, a little larger, at one end only, next to the center head bolt hole. That goes to the front.
