  • Engine: Is a '57/'58 Golden Hawk block different from a same year Silver Hawk

I have a bare '57 Golden Hawk block. I'm curious if it is "reinforced" or stronger in any areas than a standard 289 block of the same era.
    Thanks

'56 Golden Hawk (3 speed/overdrive, Power steering - Running, but not yet driving)
'58 Packard Hawk. A partially restored car that was not completely assembled.

FWIW, all Studebaker blocks; trucks, Larks, sedans, Golden Hawks, Avanti, all came off the same casting line. A '55 224" truck block can be made into a 304.5" R3 engine if one doesn't get tangled up in the partial flow/full flow underwear.

As Jack said; all the blocks are basically the same, except if you were planning to use the COMPLETE Engine.
The difference there would be the Low Compression Truck Heads with 7.0 or 7.5 depending on Gaskets, you would have a noticeable Power Loss without a Supercharger.

Thanks Rich, all I have is the bare block. I don't need it, so if anyone can use it please make a reasonable offer (the engine number is PS3902 so it is correct for a '57 Golden Hawk).
