Could somebody please explain to me the correct way to install this clip on the prop rod? They seem too brittle to snap over the rod. I broke 2 already.

It does snap on. At least I could not figure out any other way to do it. I broke one. I sanded the rod to make it as smooth as possible and greased it. The second one did snap on. The way you have to keep it and the rod in the hole while you do it makes it very difficult. Just make sure you keep the clip centered on the rod and keep the pressure centered on the clip. That worked for me.
