  • Engine: Too pretty to bolt on!

Check out the nice machine work on this Stude head....done by a shop in Mass that does racing engine work.....hot tanked, checked for cracks, new guides, hardened seats and stainless steel valves.
Went on a friend's '55 Speedster I did the upper end on about a year ago.

I think I just got his brother back from City Motor Supply in Dallas! Not a racing head, and they baked it instead of hot tanking. New valves, guides, seals, etc.

Wish I had a "before" shot.......

Agreed. If this shop did all this cool work, they should of at least done some port/chamber work to go with the valves/seats/guides.
They're leaving a lot of power stored up that a grinder in a skilled hand (race shop) could have released. Milage and drivability too.

        Sorry...had to say it.

Sorry, I messed up. Here are the pictures.

This head had wasps living in it, and several stuck valves. It is a work of art compared to how it looked before.

Here are some before and after pictures of my 259 heads

Mike was very kind to tutor me when I bit the bullet and ported and polished the heads on my 259. These are the before, in the middle of, and finished pictures. The Machinist here in Tulsa R&R the exhaust valve guides, installed hardened exhaust valve seats, milled the heads, and did a three-angle valve job for $205. Per his recommendation, the umbrella style valve stem seals were used on the exhaust valves and the positive seals on the intakes.
