I have installed 1951 front fenders and hood on a 1952 and 1950 set on a 1951 but I would like to know if I can do the same with a 1948 or 49 Champion. What I am trying to do is build something that looks like a 1950 Champion in the front. I have 3 complete cars but, due to health, the body on each is beyond my ability to restore. I also have a complete chassis that has been cleaned and painted and includes a 1951 engine and rebuilt DG150 transmission. The engine was built by Bill Cathcart and has oversize pistions, reworked cam, aluminum head and dual intake and exhaust, a real performance engine...? I would like to get my hands on a body in fairly good shape that I could sit on this chassis but don't know what years will fit. The more year models that will work gives me a much larger field to look at. I have been trying to build this car for about 14 years on and off and have let health and age catch up with me. If anyone has any answers or information on this I would be most greatful. I know this will sound like blasphemy to a lot of Studebaker lovers but I just want a 1950 Champion to drive around in on weekends.
