while mounting the deck lid back on for fit checking, I noticed a difference in the original hinge springs and the NOS ones I recieved from SI. The nos ones are bent the same direction on the hook ends while the original ones appear to be left-right bends--
Anyone have insight into Studebaker going to just one style?
UPDATE---------
Jim at Studebaker International looked into this for me and said that up thru 52 they used the "left-right" springs and from 53 up, changed to the ones on right. It is strange that I looked at 3 different decklid hinges from 53 up that had the "left-right" spring pairs and not the newer type. On the new type, you run one spring one way and then flip the other spring the other way, in other words, one up then one down rather then both down like the older type.
