  • Body / Glass: trunk end repair piece recieved

I just received the piece that goes behind the trunk and in front of the rear bumper to repair some prier damage done by a "rear-ender". Got this one from Classic Enterprises and compared it to the one I already have from Cary's Fabrication. One from classic much thinner and not formed as well as the Cary's Fab one. The Cary's Fab one was a lot more money, but I think in the end will be a lot less work.

Where is Cary's located? Do they have a web site / catalog or is it just a call and see if they make what you need?

Timing on this post is perfect for me. I will be ordering several patch panels in the next month or two. I had never heard of these guys before.

To confirm: Many of you know SDCer Tom Lawlis; not on the forum. Tom is doing what will probably be the best-ever Golden Hawk restoration on the 1957 Golden Hawk 400 that has been in his family since 1960. The progress and attention to detail is astonishing; I've seen the rotisserie-mounted body tub in person several times over the last couple months. Gorgeous.

Tom has used several Leroy Carey-fabricated pieces and has been extremely satisfied with them. Top-notch, Tom reports. BP

That is something I would love to see more of, full restorations, with pics. I always like to see other projects.
Quality workmanship is surely something to be celebrated.

I used the panels supplied by Classic Enterprises on Sandi's Hawk. They worked but some modification was required.
Always nice to get parts that fit right without modification.
Wish I had heard of Leroy ayear ago!

Makes you wonder why Classic don't make better parts if this other fellow can?

Leroy's in to smaller production and finer detail. He won't have the quantity and breadth of panels Classic Enterprises has.
Bless them both. We need them.
