Not sure if this should be here or "Judging" section but here goes. What color is the door locking mechanisim on a 62 GT Hawk door. On the driver's side it is painted body color (black) and on the passenger side it is more of an aluminum or cad color. Which one is correct?

Every original one I've seen is body color ...but what do I know.

My experience is the same... I suspect that the cad plated one may be a replacement for an original that failed in some way? In any case the vast majority of the ones I've seen appear to have been installed in the door before the door shell was painted.
