  • Engine: 1951 Champion Engine Color

What was the color of paint originally used on a 1951 Champion engine? The exterior of the car is agua green if that makes any difference on the motor color. Will appreciate any help.

They were painted olive green. Body color makes no difference.

I always liked that attempt at disguising oil leaks.

"Hey, all of our engines leak oil after a few miles."

"Well, let's paint them all oil-colored. Easy enough."

I often wonder if Studebaker had thousands of gallons of olive green
military paint left from WW2. I'm sure the Weasel was painted in military green.
Also, Uncle Sam didn't want paint returned so.....?

Thanks for all your help on the engine color for a 1951 Champion. Double thanks for the picture of the motor showing the color. You have been a big help.
