  • generator to alternator

To convert a 62 Lark from generator to alternator, can the in place wires be used? If so which wire is left out? Field, Arm, or Ground?
    Which is which?

There are a variety of alternators that would work or that could be made to work. Each would wire differently.

you can use a one wire gm alternator and eliminate most wires and just run one wire to the battery terminal.

Good information on 1 wire vs. 3 wire.

As to wiring the one wire gm alternator I've been told you can wire it the voltage regulator on the Battery terminal.
