  • Body / Glass: Replacing floors and rockers

Looking at the floors of my Wagonaire, I find things not as pretty as I had hoped. Someone has been very creative, including using some fiberglass. Obviously front and rear floors need replacement, along with the rocker panels. I have done floors on a 58 and 63, both just having an outer rocker. This car as an inner and outer rocker or a full boxed rocker. Due to the lovely repairs, I can't see the transition between the floors and rockers. Should I replace the rocker panels, then the floors, or floors before rockers? I'm not sure if the new rockers are just the outer skin or if they consist of the whole box.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

To be sure the break between the rocker and the door is correct, and to make sure the fenders and doors line up with the rockers, I do the rockers last, after all the sheet metal is mounted on the car.

The advice from clarkwd is good. Did not do the rockers last on a Champ and the result was the door bottom is too high creating a wider gap from the rocker top to the door bottom edge!

Call Classic Enterprizes. They will be friendly and helpful. I've used their stuff but also just cut ou bad places back to good metal and fashion steel panels to fit . Weld with care. If you are impatient you will warp the heck out of your repair.
