Ignition: What gauge wire from points to the coil?

The wire is missing from the original Distributor. What is the gauge used for a stock 1957 V8 distributor?

My 1949 shop manual shows 16ga black, and I'd guess your 57 would be the same. It's in the shop manual under WIRING.

Thanks, I was looking in the Chassis book at the exploded view of the distributor - duh!

16 or 18 gauge wire is plenty good for the lead between the distributor and coil as there is about 3 amps of current drawn from the coil when the engine is running. Bud
