1950 Champion and Commander Trunk Locks Differences

  • Body / Glass: 1950 Champion and Commander Trunk Locks Differences

    The 1950 Champion uses a Yale trunk lock and the Commander uses a Hurd lock, so is the key and cylinder the only difference in the 2 trunk handles?
    BTW, I looked in my parts books, but couldn't determine if more than the lock was different. Thanks, Tom

    The base unit is the same, their are two different handles for the assembly, one takes the hurd and the other takes the yale. Thus the lift handle is different on the two while the part that bolts to the trunk is the same

      Great, thanks. I bought an NOS handle with lock already, so I still need a mint or NOS base.
