      Everyone here should keep a photo of the pic(s) above whenever they have a hot problem. Water wetter, 6 blade fan, electric fan, new radiator.... All these will not overcome 60+ years of the pics seen here....

        Rust thanks to not keeping the cooling system full of antifreeze. I see it all the time in older cars. All that rust also helps take out water pump seals and bearings.
