Last Sunday - March 13th, Studebaker of Australia hosted a 50th Anniversary Commemoration of Studebaker ceasing vehicle production. With a gathering of fellow Studebaker enthusiasts we bid farewell to the once great company in the form of a mock funeral, eulogy and champagne toast, then celebrated the legacy it left us. We've had one detractor here in OZ saying it was morbid - Get a grip people! It was all done in fun and for the love of Studebakers. If any of our American Studebaker brothers (and sisters) find it not to their liking just put it down to the Australian irreverent sense of humour.

Thanks guys. I couldn't believe the old 'Stick in the Mud' down here had a gripe about, sheesh. ;-) Everyone had a great time, unfortuately the weather keep a lot away. It was sporadic light showers up until we started to walked the hearse in then down it came in buckets, which a lot said gave it 'atmosphere'. I know it gave my 3/4 coat about 3 lbs of extra weight in water ;-) The service concluded about 11 am, and we had to chase the 'Wake-ees' out of the shop about 5pm ;-)
