  • Ignition: Installing points in a 170 six - wiring

I’ve never been mechanical so most of my questions are remedial to say the least. So here’s another one. I’m putting points in a 170 6 cylinder and there’s 3 wires that I don’t know where they go. Ones looks like a ground and one is coming from the condenser. Third one is a light brown one screwed into the housing

The Condensor Wire INSIDE the Distributor, connects to the POINTS where the Wire through the Dist. Case to the Coil (-) Negative Terminal on a 12 Volt Neg. Ground Car, [or the (+) Terminal on a 6 Volt Positive Ground Car] goes.

The probably Brown, cloth covered wire is the Breaker Plate to Case Ground.

What Year, Model and Car or Truck are we working on?
