1953 Studebaker R6 Truck, with installed radio, Philco S4923

Does not come on (surprise) , question is what to do with it. If there is a place that repairs them, can someone give me an idea on the cost first, and second, who repairs them? The budget won’t handle any big costs. I had the idea to put it back in with the internals out. And a modern radio inside the box, that works with remote. Speakers in kick panels. Given we are leaving the truck 6V for now, that’s less likely.

Other work completed so far, new front brakes are in, all new brake lines and wheel cylinders are in, relined rear shoes and turned rear drums be ready next week. All new fluids in, oil lines replaced, engine cooling flushed, new aluminum radiator poised to go in. Original engine runs great, complete new brake system soon to be complete.
The fuel system is next, carb rebuild, new lines, but need a gas tank!

See 'RadioRoy' here on the Forum. He'll convert it to AM/FM while maintaining a stock appearance.

don't forget to install lots of sound deadening material to hear inside that noisy truck.....that is, unless you're just going "parkin"

Dan skidmore in Los Angeles repairs old studebaker to stock condition. Radio Roy upgrades old radios. Someone correct me if I’m wrong. Dan advertises in Turning Wheels. His cost is anywhere for 150-250 for a radio repair.

    Dan is cheaper than RadioRoy.

RadioRoy does conversions as well as original technology repairs, but the shop is shut down.

RadioRoy does it both ways, but the shop is shut down.
Looks like I sent you the radio from my ‘51 just in time. Happy to have had you do the work.

If you end up needing one earlier, I've got a spare in my attic that's real nice. $200 should get it. come pick it up.
