    It is (or was) a 12 Volt System, so it would have a Group 24, NOT 24F (Ford) 12 Volt Battery.

    The Negative (-) Battery Post would be Forward, when both Posts are toward the Engine.

    Always buy the MOST AMP's & Cranking Amps that you can afford, 500 is good.

    When some battery Brands have about 3 or 4 "Models" (price levels) I sometimes get the Mid-range or next to the best, for the most value for the buck.

    Hi guys,
    Can someone tell me if the 57 Transtar needs a 6 or 12 volt battery? How about cranking amps--what is best?
