  • Engine: oil all over front of engine Avanti R2

I have oil going all over the front of the engine. I did some investigation; and there is a smallish rubber line that has come disconnected somewhere under the alternator area. Looks to be a push on type of fitting. It exits down at the bottom of the engine to the atmosphere. Held in place via a small clip on the timing cover. There is oil dripping from inside the tube. Does anyone know where this little hose goes and its attachment point?

    From my 1963 Avanti R2

    Thanks for the help.

Hmm, sounds exactly like you are describing the excess Fuel Drain Tube used on the bottom of the Air Box on the '57 Golden Hawk Supercharger setup! Do you have a R3 Air Box on your R2?

If Oil were in a Carb. Air Box, I would suspect a Bad Seal in the Supercharger.

It does not sound like it, but if it were the Superchager pressure Reference line from the Fuel Pump, that would also be a very Bad sign.

Turned out to be a leaking valve/rocker cover. The line was a coolant overflow that is no longer used.
