  • Transmission / Overdrive: Part number help 1547711

Can someone tell me if speedometer cable #1547711 fits a 38 State Commander 6 cyl? I have a parts book on order but have not received it yet due to seller goofing order up. Thanks Dave S

59-64 Lark. But that's the core. Are the ends the same? Length? Parts book will show 6 digit part numbers not 7.

It is a cable core on ebay in an original Studebaker parts envelope with the 7 digit part number. The ends look the same as my 38. I have asked the seller for the length but have not heard back yet. He list it as "Unsure of application" Dave S

6 digit number....the correct length may not be enough to connect things. The ends changed along the way..for sure in 58-59' models...

It is a 7 digit number if I could post a picture I would. Thanks for the help I just may buy it and try if wrong I've wasted 12 bucks. Thanks again.

My notes show it fitting 59-62 lark Y1 bodied cars. This does not mean it will not fit other applications

Thanks. I'm not sure if it is worth taking the chance on it. Thanks for tying to help.
