  • Body / Glass: Windshield gasket

The windshield and rear window are out of my 64 Hawk. Tried all after noon to reinstall it with a new gasket. It just will not fit. I've yet to find any after market rubber parts that actually fit. Does anyone have any ideas other that a motorcycle helmet?

I installed a new windshield in my GT Hawk a few days ago and had no problems. Used new rubber as well. Have done several for others. What seems to be the problem?

edit: I used repro Fennessy rubber and repro windshield.

Which one? Have you watched the video in the Tech Tips area of the forum? https://dicksteinkamp.wordpress.com/...the-windshield
You will need someone to help with them.

I had a local glass shop attempt to install the original windshield with new rubber in my 61 Hawk and he couldn't get it to go in. I then tried it myself and cracked the windshield trying to get it in. I then bought a new windshield. The new one was about 1/8" smaller than the original plus it was a little thinner. I was able to put the new one in with no problems.
