  • Rear Axle: pinion oil seal Dana 44

    Hi guys,
    Is there a modern version for the Dana 44 rear axle pinion oil seal ?
    that can be bought at a local Flaps store.

    National 5778 or equivalent. It will be new, don't know about modern.
    American iron, real old school
    With two tone paint, it sure is cool

    Its got 8 cylinders and uses them all
    With an overdrive that just won't stall

    With a 4 barrel carb and dual exhausts
    With 4.23 gears it can really get lost

    Its got safety belts and I ain't scared
    The brakes are good and the tires are fair.

    Tried to sell her, but got no taker
    I"ll just keep driving my Studebaker

        5778 is a 'newer' design compared to the original pinion seal.

          Don't forget to clean the yoke splines and apply some RTV so the gear lube doesn't creep through the splines.
