Clutch / Torque Converter: 1949 Clutch Adjustment

I have looked in search and not found what I need. My contact point is about 2 inches from the floor board. Do I need to lengthen the rod or shorten it to bring the contact point further from the floor. I can't remember anything any more. Too old

If the rod from the pedal arm to the bearing arm pushes, as most cars do, then you would lengthen the rod.

Lengthen the rod to bring engagement point up. In normal use, as the disc wears, the engagement point usually gets higher instead of lower.
So while you are under there, look at the linkage very closely for worn parts and lost motion, especially the little tubular coupling with two clevis pins next to the bell housing.
